During Almedalen Week 2023, we at Sanofi gathered representatives from healthcare, politics, authorities and patient organizations in a roundtable discussion that focused on the possibilities of Swedish diabetes care.
During the conversation, it was discussed that healthcare should be able to meet patients based on individual conditions to achieve the treatment goals for their diabetes.
Three proposals that emerged to create a more equal diabetes care were:
- national and regional diabetes coordinators
- Tailoring treatments, treatment and follow-up based on needs.
- Patient education for increased knowledge
